Coding on Flexible Films and Foil
Codes that hold on printed film, laminates and foil, for tea, coffee, biscuit, snack and bakery packs.

Choose the method that suits your film
Flexible films and foil cover a wide range of Kenyan packs: biscuit and snack wrappers, tea and coffee sachets, confectionery, bread bags and foil lids. Some are glossy, some metallised, some printed edge to edge, and each reacts differently to a code.
Inkjet and laser both have a place. Continuous inkjet works on most films once the ink is matched, while laser gives a permanent, ink-free mark on films that respond to it. We recommend one after looking at your film structure and line speed.

Key features
What you can expect from a coding system set up for this pack.
- Ink matched to filmWe pair the ink with your film, whether laminate, metallised, foil or clear, so the code stays put.
- Inkjet or laserPick a flexible inkjet code or a permanent laser mark, depending on the film and the result you need.
- Fast wrapper speedsNon-contact printing keeps pace with high-speed wrapping and flow-wrap machines.
- Fine detail on small packsSmall, sharp characters fit the narrow code areas on sachets and single-serve packs.
Built for Kenyan production lines
Tea, coffee and snack packers in Kenya serve both local shelves and export buyers, and the codes have to satisfy both.
- Lot codes that tie an export consignment back to a production run, as overseas buyers often ask.
- Printers and lasers that cope with warm, humid packing halls.
- Help choosing between inkjet and laser before you invest.
- Inks, make-up fluid and spares available locally.
- Training for operators and maintenance staff on your own line.

Common questions
Should I choose inkjet or laser for my film?
Inkjet works on most films and is easy to change. Laser gives a permanent, ink-free mark but only suits films that respond to it. We recommend one after looking at your film and your line.
Can you code on foil lids for cups and tubs?
Yes. Foil lids can be coded with inkjet using an ink matched to the lid coating.
Can small packs carry a readable code?
Yes. Printers can produce small, fine characters for narrow code areas, subject to the pack design and line speed.
